GL Supervisor

Position Objective

Coordinate and perform general accounting activities to ensure the timely, accurate, and complete recording of the company's financial transactions, while ensuring compliance with corporate policies related to an e-commerce operation supported by a maquiladora entity. Responsible for leading the accounting close process, reconciliations, account analysis, and internal controls to ensure the integrity of the financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting

• Supervise the accurate recording and classification of accounting transactions in the General Ledger.
• Prepare and review manual, recurring, and closing journal entries.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting balances.
• Coordinate and oversee bank, intercompany, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Review reconciliations of asset, liability, equity, revenue, and expense accounts.
• Coordinate the monthly and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statement variance analyses.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies identified during the close process.
• Follow up on outstanding items and account reclassifications.
• Oversee the reconciliation of sales transactions generated through e-commerce platforms.
• Ensure the proper recording of revenue, returns, discounts, promotions, and refunds.
• Review revenue recognition in accordance with corporate policies and applicable accounting principles.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls over accounting processes.
